Welcome to Ledger®

Ledger® hardware wallets are trusted by millions of users worldwide. They give you complete ownership and offline protection for your cryptocurrency. Whether you’re holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, or hundreds of other assets, your private keys are stored safely within your Ledger® device — fully protected from online risks.

1. Unbox Your Ledger® Device

When your Ledger Nano X or Nano S Plus arrives, check that the packaging is sealed and untampered. Inside your box, you’ll find:

If you find a pre-written recovery phrase, do not use the device. Only generate your 24-word phrase using your own Ledger® hardware wallet.

2. Download Ledger Live®

Ledger Live® is your all-in-one crypto management app. Download it only from the official website: Ledger.com/Start®. It’s available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Once installed, open Ledger Live® and follow the setup wizard.

3. Set Up Your Device

Connect your device via USB (or Bluetooth for Nano X). On-screen prompts will guide you through:

Store your recovery phrase safely offline — it’s the only way to recover your funds if your device is lost or reset. Ledger® never stores your recovery phrase.

4. Install Crypto Apps & Add Accounts

In Ledger Live®, open the Manager tab to install apps for your preferred cryptocurrencies. Each blockchain (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana) requires its own app. Then, add accounts in Ledger Live® to track and manage your balances and transactions.

5. Manage & Secure Your Assets

To send crypto, verify every transaction on your Ledger® device screen before confirming. This ensures your private keys remain offline and immune to online attacks. Ledger® supports thousands of coins and tokens, and connects securely with major Web3, NFT, and DeFi platforms.

6. Security Best Practices

Ledger® will never request your 24-word recovery phrase. Be aware of phishing sites, fake apps, and impersonators. Always confirm you’re visiting https://www.ledger.com and keep both your device firmware and Ledger Live® app updated to the latest version.
